I’m Elaine Kelly. I live in Hertfordshire on a wide beam canal boat. It is here that I have my studio & draw upon the picturesque beauty of my surroundings to help inspire my work. I have been creating art for 25 years now & in this time have undertaken commissions for private buyers & public/commercial sector organisations. I love to work with pastels, acrylic, silk painting, printmaking, photography & sculpture. My work has also been extremely influenced by my extensive travels around the world & the extremes in cultures that I have experienced. My greatest loves for inspiration include Tibet, Cambodia, Vietnam, & Thailand although I have also worked in India, Morocco, Jamaica & parts of Europe. I also teach an art group which has been running for a year and a half. I work with people who have enduring mental health problems; this group has therapeutic benefits in a mental health setting. To give confidence and self esteem we exhibit their work and this encourages members to socialise and be creative. I am currently being taught kiln formed glass at Hatfield University in the evenings. Please have a look at my glass creations, Photography, and Art in my gallery. All work featured on this site is for sale. |
